I encourage voters in the Stonehouse District to invest in the future of the upper county by electing Lisa Ownby for the Stonehouse seat on the James City County Board of Supervisors.

Lisa understands the current issues facing the county, having lived here for over 30 years. She was a passionate advocate for education during her five years on the WJCC School Board, serving as both vice chair and chair, and she understands the county budgeting process from that work. In addition to her time on the School Board, she has exceled across the public, private and nonprofit sectors bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in areas of management, budgeting, policy and public service. She is the director of operations for her family business managing their profit and loss statements, adjusting as needed, to ensure the business remains profitable. Those kinds of skills are the right combination to bring to the important work of the county.

Her primary areas of focus include preserving the small-town feel of the remaining rural area of JCC; building a new fire station in the Upper County to improve response times and to protect families; advocating for the resources needed by our schools to provide a world-class education; and to help develop solar energy resources to preserve the environment and lower energy costs. Lisa has made it clear that she believes in equity for all county residents and would be a great addition to the Board of Supervisors.
